Drawing Expeditions

A trip to the Natural History Museum in Bergen (click to enlarge):

Note the rancid fellow, bottom right.

The following images are from the first Hatch escapade: a drawing trip to Bristol City Museum & Art Gallery. You may notice a theme here, one that puts me in the same bracket as those who read maps and wear Christmas jumpers in my local library.

What is notable about this last one is not the record of hesitation shown by the bleeding ink, but its similarity to a picture I gave my friends several years ago. It was a scraperboard image of horses, which halfway down the page morphed into wolves. It was a thing of poignant beauty, so much so that I toyed with the idea of replacing their photo of a late relative with it. A lovely gift.
