Absence makes the heart grow fonder

...of the colour photocopier. These are a couple of tests where I've obliterated scans of sketchbook idlings by putting them through the inkjet printer several times. I am driven to such extremes whilst I'm away from the machine.





















This represents an attempt to replicate the surprises of the photocopier when moving onto the computer. It's tempting to start tweaking and perfecting things with software, but that would take all the fun out of the process.

The peculiar collapse of pictorial depth whilst also creating a sense of distance between the layers might be worth pursuing...
