Hatch: Imagined Postcards at the RWA, Bristol
![]() |
Postcards being installed |
The project was devised in order to make
more tangible links between Hatch members and other drawing
practitioner-researchers, as our network is dispersed geographically and many
of our communications are digital and use only words. Participants were
introduced to each other through their work, in this case by selecting a
postcard and sending a description of it to a named recipient who then made an
imagined postcard based on it and posted this back to the holder of the
original postcard. The project was also an excuse to explore the relationship
between image and text at length; a source of great joy and amusement to me.
Participants include (and thanks go to):

Morgan, Matthew Richardson, Rosie Blake, Philippa Wood, Sophie Morrish, Janette
