Imagined Postcards at the RWA, Bristol

Postcards being installed

The Imagined Postcards project is on show at the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol in the drawing lab as part of Drawn 2015. More details can be found here.

The project was devised in order to make more tangible links between Hatch members and other drawing practitioner-researchers, as our network is dispersed geographically and many of our communications are digital and use only words. Participants were introduced to each other through their work, in this case by selecting a postcard and sending a description of it to a named recipient who then made an imagined postcard based on it and posted this back to the holder of the original postcard. The project was also an excuse to explore the relationship between image and text at length; a source of great joy and amusement to me.

Participants include (and thanks go to):

Emily Mitchell, Stephanie Black, Robin Schaeverbeke, Catrin Morgan, Matthew Richardson, Rosie Blake, Philippa Wood, Sophie Morrish, Janette Kerr, Luise Vormittag, Courtney Coyne-Jensen, Peter Lloyd, Karen Mead, Luci Gorell Barnes, Vicki Kaye, Hayley Potter, Davina Kirkpatrick, Filipa Malva, Sara Parsons, Theo Wood, Penny Clark, Carlos Sapochnik, Debra Clarke, Joanna Spicer, Arantxa Echarte, Rachel Gannon, Anwyl Cooper-Willis, Mat Osmond, Stephanie Wooster, Jantze Tullett, Katherina Manolessou, Ruth Wallace, Chloe Regan, Barrie Tullett, Mitch Miller, Otto, Lynn Imperatore.
